Black Walnut Tincture – Traditional Support for Digestion & Balance

Black walnut is one of the most widely recognized traditional botanicals for digestive system support and internal balance.

But most products in this category:

  • Overpromise
  • Use poor sourcing
  • Or lack transparency

This tincture takes a clean, traditional approach, focusing on quality sourcing and proper extraction.

Why Black Walnut Is Used Traditionally

Black walnut hull has a long history of use in herbal traditions for:

  • Supporting digestive system balance
  • Promoting internal cleansing
  • Maintaining overall gut health

It is typically used as part of short-term or cyclical protocols, rather than as a daily, long-term supplement.

What It Supports

Why Alcohol Extraction Matters

Black walnut contains compounds that require alcohol extraction for proper availability.

This method:

  • Pulls a broader range of plant compounds
  • Preserves potency
  • Delivers a more complete extract

👉 The alcohol is part of the extraction process—not a filler.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

Do You Use Fruit Body or Mycelium?

All of our medical mushroom tinctures are made entirely from sustainably wild-foraged or organically homegrown mushroom fruit bodies, ensuring the highest potency. We use NO filler products such as mycelium mass.

What Extraction Methods Do You Use?

We use the traditional Taoist method of double and triple extraction ensuring the highest potency. This process unlocks the maximum amount of bio-available medicine compared to any other technique, i.e., powders, capsules, etc. Our double extraction process is as follows:

  • We use low temperature dehydration of respectfully foraged or homegrown mushroom fruit bodies.
  • We then make an extract consisting of four ounces of dried mushrooms to one half gallon pure alcohol for two or more weeks.
  • Next, we cold press and separate the mushroom fruit from the alcohol.
  • Then we add the mushroom fruit body to two-and-a-half gallons of living spring water that is boiled until half a gallon of liquid remains, resulting in a decoction (concentrated essence). The decoction is then cooled.
  • The mushroom fruit is then separated from the liquid by cold press.
  • Finally, the alcohol extract is combined with the water decoction for full spectrum benefits.

Our triple extraction process for Chaga includes all of the above with an additional low temperature (160° F) water decoction for 8 hours.

There is approximately 100 mg of full spectrum mushroom medicine in 3 droppers of extract.

What's the Alcohol Content and Type?

To maximize the bio-availability of our medicines, we maintain approximately 45% alcohol by volume. Alcohol is the essential agent for mushroom extraction and is needed to unlock the benefits of polysaccharides, polyphenols, carotenoids, and peptides, etc. We believe that the Taoists created alcohol for this very process.

We use 190 proof organic, gluten free corn alcohol.

Mushrooms: The Foundation of Life

For millennia, mushrooms have been used as staple sources of food and medicine. Recently, with modern scientific breakthroughs, we now know just how important these ancient traditions truly are. Mushrooms just may be the key ingredients to long term, full-body health.

Mushrooms are adaptogens. They must be taken regularly over a long period of time in order to receive any noticeable benefits. It is also important to incorporate a dose of soluble vitamin C with your mushroom medicines. This helps the absorption of polysaccharides, increasing bioavailability. The easiest and most potent way to ingest medicinal mushrooms is in traditional double extracted form. The double extraction is necessary because it unlocks both the water-soluble (polysaccharides) and alcohol soluble (terpenoids and phenolics) components, making a full-spectrum medicine. It is also easy to make medicinal teas simply from chunked dried mushrooms. Cooking gourmet mushrooms in food can prove to be very beneficial as well. We invite you to start enjoying mushrooms today and everyday for a lifetime of good health.
